“The 8 Trax” – The third studio album by Hip-Hop Artist, SnowFlake Black.
“The 8 Trax” is the third studio album by Hip-Hop Artist, SnowFlake Black. The title signifies the era of 1970’s, when music was often distributed for and played through the nostalgic “8 Track Player.” The album combines the R&B/Soul and Funk sound of the 1970s, with the Hip-Hop/Rap sound of the past 40 years.
SFB has for quite sometime been drawn to the funky and soulful “old school” sound of the 1970’s. For the longest time, he has wanted to find a way where could incorporate it into his own music while staying true to his main influence, Hip-Hop.
Not only did this vintage music influence SFB, but many of the old films from this era did also. As an avid and ongoing fan of unforgettable films such as “The Godfather,” “Foxy Brown,” “Enter the Dragon,” “Dogday Afternoon,” “Shaft” simply to name a few, he often reflects on memorable aspects of these films and what made them classics. Being a talent of both music and acting, he keeps it in his plan to integrate such influence in his future cinematic endeavors as well as his music.
Music composed and produced by Lord Toph, with lyrics written and performed by SnowFlake Black. With tracks like Soul, Youngblood & FunXodus, just to name a few, “The 8 Trax” fittingly has eight solid tracks which authentically showcase the 70’s throwback sound and pay homage to the beautiful, bygone era and its influence on the evolution of modern music and society.
